Cardiovascular Treatment
Cardiovascular Disease Stem Cell Treatment
Condition-specific stem cell treatment for ischemic heart disease and related advanced cardiac conditions.
Right now, there are not any good treatments for serious heart failure. A lot of people with this condition see their quality of life get much worse. Heart disease causes about 32% of deaths worldwide and is becoming more common. For patients with severe heart failure, almost 90% die within a year.
The only option for most of these patients is a heart transplant. However, many people waiting for a transplant die before receiving one. Even if a transplant is performed, there are significant risks, including bleeding, serious side effects from anti-rejection medicines, and the chance the new heart will not work well enough to maintain blood flow.
Our focus is on treating ischemic heart disease, where the heart does not receive enough blood and oxygen. This is also called coronary heart disease or coronary artery disease and happens when the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle become narrow.
The heart does not naturally heal itself very well. When it is seriously damaged, it often cannot repair the injury, which can lead to heart failure. A heart attack can cause a major loss of heart muscle cells that do not grow back. After a heart attack, a person can lose up to 1 billion of these cells.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) can develop into different cell types, including nerve cells and heart muscle cells. MSCs are highly effective at locating and supporting injured tissue. These cells have been tested in clinical trials and do not carry ethical concerns. MSCs are delivered using a catheter during a hospital procedure, allowing direct delivery to damaged tissue.
We have successfully treated over 525 patients with ischemic heart disease. Primary conditions we address include:
- Angina
- Left ventricular hypertrophy
- Myocardial infarction
- Hypertension
- Heart failure
- Stroke
- Aortic stiffness
- Endothelial dysfunction
The treatment process is simple and starts with a thorough cardiovascular evaluation by our specialized team. In general, the full process can be completed in 5 days.
- Day 1: Cardiac screening to confirm treatment candidacy.
- Day 2: Hospital admission, catheter injection of cells, and overnight ICU stay.
- Day 3 and Day 4: Patient stays in hospital if needed.
- Day 5: Follow-up with physician.
Cardiac Study Results for Stem Cells:
- Mortality: 76% reduction in all-cause mortality at 4 years for patients with end-stage cardiomyopathy.
- Hospitalization: 80% reduction in hospitalizations due to congestive heart failure.
In addition to reduced risk of mortality and hospitalization, patients may experience:
- Improved quality of life
- Enhanced functionality
- Decreased long-term healthcare costs
- Lengthened life span
Many patients have also noticed positive side effects after treatment, such as:
- Improved cognitive function
- Reduced arthritic symptoms
- Increased energy levels
- Enhanced physical capacity
- Growth of dark hair in bald spots
- Visual improvements
- Improved neurological symptoms
