Medical travel
Plan your visit. Feel prepared.
We’re here to help you prepare for your visit to Bangkok—from your first medical review to returning home.
Discuss your visit
Begin before you book.
Let’s review your medical information and appointment plans before you arrange your journey.
Medical records
Share your diagnosis, recent reports, medication list and questions with us.
Appointments & costs
Contact us to discuss your assessment, appointment schedule and estimated costs before booking travel.
Travel readiness
Ask your treating doctor and airline about your individual travel needs.
Prepare the details
Start with a medical review
Please contact us with your diagnosis, the reason for your visit and your questions. We’ll explain how to share your records and whether translations are needed. Our medical team may need further information or tests before advising whether an assessment or treatment is appropriate.
- Confirm your appointment date, clinician, location and arrival time with us.
- We’ll discuss the expected assessment schedule and whether further visits may be needed.
- Please discuss timing with us before making non-refundable bookings.
Medical documents to prepare
- A diagnosis summary and relevant medical or surgical history.
- Recent laboratory results, imaging reports and available image files.
- Current medications, doses, allergies and previous adverse reactions.
- Your regular doctor’s contact details and relevant discharge summaries.
- If applicable, dialysis records, transplant information or implanted-device documentation.
Contact us to confirm which records we need for your case. Please keep accessible digital copies and bring a printed summary.
Passport, visa and arrival requirements
Check requirements for your nationality, passport, purpose of travel and planned length of stay with the relevant Thai embassy or consulate. Check the rules for companions separately.
- Thai e-Visa official website (opens in a new tab)
- Thailand Digital Arrival Card — official guidance (opens in a new tab)
An appointment confirmation does not itself establish permission to enter Thailand. Follow the current official requirements and submission instructions.
Flying, medication and ongoing care
Discuss your itinerary with your treating clinician, especially if your condition has changed or you have recently been hospitalized. Ask your airline about medical documentation, oxygen, mobility assistance and equipment requirements where relevant.
- Carry medicines in your hand luggage, in their original labelled containers, with prescription copies.
- Plan enough medicine for the trip and possible delays; check destination rules for your medicines.
- Discuss dose timing across time zones with your clinician.
- If you need dialysis, coordinate destination sessions with your dialysis team well before travel and confirm records have been received.
Keep your existing treatment plan unless your treating clinician advises otherwise. Discuss fluid, diet and activity needs individually.
Estimated costs, payment and insurance
- Contact us for an estimate and clarification of consultation, test, procedure, medication and follow-up costs.
- Please confirm accepted payment methods and any deposit requirements with us.
- We can clarify the applicable cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms before you pay.
- Ask your insurer about pre-existing conditions, overseas care, the specific proposed treatment and emergency coverage.
- Budget separately for flights, accommodation, transport, companions and unexpected extra nights.
Your initial estimate may change after assessment. Please discuss updated costs with us before agreeing to further care.

During your journey
Movement and long-distance travel
Long periods of sitting can increase the risk of blood clots. Move your legs regularly and walk when safe and appropriate for your condition. If you have limited mobility, a previous clot or recent surgery, discuss a personal prevention plan with your doctor before travelling.
Follow your prescribed medication plan. Compression stockings or additional medication should be discussed individually with your clinician.
Meals, fluids and your usual care
Keep following the diet and fluid plan agreed with your treating team. If you have heart failure, kidney disease or receive dialysis, your fluid needs may differ from general travel advice.
Plan access to suitable meals and discuss any medication timing changes with your doctor. Please tell us about relevant care requirements before your visit.
Oxygen, mobility assistance and medical equipment
Arrange assistance with your airline before departure. Confirm approval requirements for oxygen, medical devices, batteries and other equipment rather than waiting until check-in.
Keep device information and any requested medical documentation accessible. Let us know about needs that may affect your appointment or onward transport.

At your appointments
Registration and first assessment
Contact us to confirm which identification and registration documents to bring and when to arrive. Please bring your records, medication list and questions.
Our clinician may review your history, examine you and discuss further investigations. We’ll explain proposed tests; please ask about their purpose, cost and when results will be available.
Understanding the proposed plan
- What is the goal of the proposed intervention?
- Which evidence applies to your diagnosis and the exact procedure?
- What are the uncertainties, possible risks and established alternatives?
- How will it fit with your existing medication and specialist care?
- How will outcomes be assessed and what follow-up is expected?
We want you to understand your options before deciding. Please take time to ask us questions. Our assessment may find that a proposed treatment is not appropriate for you.
Practical arrangements during your stay
Please confirm your appointment times and preparation instructions with us. We’ll discuss contact arrangements and whether a companion is needed after any agreed procedure. Ask us how to seek help outside opening hours.
Follow the individual instructions we give you. Do not stop medication, fast or change your usual treatment unless your treating clinician has instructed you to do so.
